Packaging is part of the commercial pellet specification
Wood pellet quotations should be compared using the same grade, pack format, quantity and delivery basis. Bag size, bags per pallet, pallet protection and total pallet weight all affect storage, handling and freight utilisation.
Common pellet supply formats
The current catalogue includes pellet products quoted in formats such as 15 kg bags, big bags and bulk supply depending on the product. Examples include EN plus-A1, Pine Wood Pellet, Spruce Wood Pellet and Acacia Wood Pellet.
Plan around the receiving site
A delivery suitable for a large warehouse may not suit a smaller retail or heating-fuel depot. Buyers should confirm vehicle access, forklift availability, loading-dock requirements, unloading method, receiving hours and any appointment restrictions.
Pallet configuration matters
Pallet quantity and total load utilisation affect transport economics. Buyers should ask for the applicable bags-per-pallet count, pallet dimensions and total pallet weight for the quoted product rather than assuming that every pellet brand uses the same configuration.
Where custom transport platforms or export packaging are required, see Wooden Pallets & Packaging.
Compare like with like
When reviewing offers, compare the same quality class, pellet diameter, pack format, pallet configuration, delivery term and destination. A cheaper product price can be offset by less efficient packing or transport.
