Wood Briquettes for Heating & Commercial Supply

At Pila REXIS s.r.o., we supply a range of compressed solid-fuel briquettes for residential, commercial and wholesale heating applications. Briquettes can be produced from different biomass materials, including clean wood-processing residues, bark and other suitable biomass feedstocks.

Our main wood-briquette range is based on clean sawdust and wood residues generated during timber processing. The raw material is dried and compressed under high pressure to create a dense, easy-to-handle fuel with a low moisture content and consistent shape.

Depending on the production method and buyer requirements, briquettes are available in several established formats, including RUF, Nestro and Pini Kay briquettes.

How Wood Briquettes Are Produced

Wood briquettes are manufactured by compressing dry sawdust and other suitable wood residues under high pressure. The compression process creates a dense solid fuel that is easier to stack, store and transport than loose sawdust.

  • RUF Briquettes: compact rectangular blocks that are easy to stack, store and handle.
  • Nestro Briquettes: cylindrical briquettes designed for straightforward loading into suitable stoves and boilers.
  • Pini Kay Briquettes: dense extruded briquettes with a central hole that increases exposed surface area during combustion.
  • Bark Briquettes: produced from compressed bark and selected where a slower ember phase and extended heat retention are preferred.
  • Peat Briquettes: available as a separate solid-fuel product where permitted and appropriate for the destination market.

Why Buyers Choose Briquettes

Compared with loose sawdust and many forms of unprocessed biomass, briquettes provide a denser and more manageable fuel format. Their commercial advantages include compact storage, easier palletisation, consistent size, reduced loose material during handling and relatively low moisture levels.

Because briquettes are densely compressed, they can provide sustained heat in compatible solid-fuel appliances. Actual burn time depends on the briquette type, appliance, airflow, fuel load and operating conditions, so product-specific performance should be confirmed rather than applying one universal burn-time claim.

Suitable Applications

  • Wood-burning stoves
  • Solid-fuel boilers
  • Fireplaces
  • Commercial heating installations
  • Selected industrial biomass applications
  • Wholesale fuel distribution
  • Retail solid-fuel programmes

Customers should always confirm that their appliance is designed to accept the specific briquette format being purchased.

Packaging & Wholesale Supply

Briquettes can be supplied in commercially practical packaging formats depending on product and order volume. Typical options may include shrink-wrapped packs, approximately 10 kg packs, palletised wholesale loads, selected big-bag formats and full-truckload commercial orders.

Exact pack weight, pallet configuration, minimum order quantity and loading arrangement are confirmed during quotation.

Commercial Quotations

Our pricing is prepared according to the specific order rather than using one fixed delivered price. Quotation factors include:

  • Briquette type
  • Required quantity
  • Packaging format
  • Delivery country and postcode
  • Transport method
  • Unloading requirements
  • Required documentation
  • Current product availability

For European deliveries, we can quote the appropriate delivery arrangement according to destination and order size. Delivered terms are agreed for the actual contract rather than assuming an obsolete or fixed Incoterm.

Quality & Product Specification

RUF, Nestro, Pini Kay, bark and peat briquettes can have different properties, so each product retains its own technical specification. For wood briquettes, buyers should normally confirm:

  • Raw material or sawdust blend
  • Moisture content
  • Ash content
  • Calorific value
  • Dimensions and briquette format
  • Pack and pallet configuration
  • Origin
  • Applicable product documentation

Where applicable, wood briquettes can be specified using the recognised ISO 17225-3 framework for graded wood briquettes. A specific certification or grade should only be stated where the supplied product has supporting documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are wood briquettes made from?

Most wood briquettes are made from dry sawdust and other suitable clean wood-processing residues compressed under high pressure.

What is the difference between RUF, Nestro and Pini Kay briquettes?

The main differences are shape, density and manufacturing method. RUF briquettes are rectangular, Nestro briquettes are generally cylindrical, while Pini Kay briquettes are extruded with a central hole.

Can briquettes replace firewood?

In many compatible solid-fuel appliances, wood briquettes can be used as an alternative to conventional firewood. Appliance instructions and permitted fuel types should always be checked.

Do wood briquettes contain chemical binders?

Properly manufactured wood briquettes can rely on pressure and the natural binding properties of wood rather than added chemical binders. The composition should be confirmed for the supplied product.

Can you supply briquettes by pallet or truckload?

Yes. Commercial packaging and full-load supply can be quoted according to product, quantity and destination.

Do you deliver across Europe?

European delivery can be arranged or quoted according to destination, order quantity, product availability and transport requirements.
